HRCI/HRB Joint Funding Scheme Celebration

Celebrating the funded projects under the HRCI/HRB Joint Funding Scheme

On December 11th, we celebrated the latest round of health, social care and medical research projects funded by the HRCI/HRB Joint Funding Scheme in the Mansion House, Dublin 2. 12 excellent, patient/service user-focused research projects are being funded in this round of the Joint Funding Scheme by 8 of our member charities, with matched funding from the HRB.

This internationally unparalleled scheme allows our members to fund research of importance to their communities in accordance with worldwide best practice in research governance. The funded projects seek solutions to challenges relating to cancer, rare diseases, dementia, visual impairment, pulmonary disease and parental mental health.

At the event, we announced Prof Mary McCarron as the recipient of the 2024 HRCI Research Impact Award. Mary has been recognised for her transformative work to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities living with dementia.
